Dr Amanda Wong Balgownie Veterinary Hospital

Dr Amanda Wong

Senior Veterinary Surgeon

Amanda joined the team at Balgownie Veterinary Hospital in December 2014.

Amanda grew up on a farm in Tasmania where her love of animals turned into a dream to become a vet. After completing her veterinary degree through Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Amanda worked as a mixed practice vet in Tasmania, then re-located to the South Coast to pursue the diversity of small animals and hobby pets. Whilst Amanda’s particular interests include dermatology, surgical cases and working up challenging medical cases; she really loves the loyal client base and being able to help pets throughout their life stages.

Amanda has a wonderful husband and delightful young son and beautiful baby girl. Together we love taking our Border Collie Hank to the beach, gardening, running and enjoying the lifestyle Wollongong has to offer.

Veterinarian Balgownie Veterinary Hospital

Dr Stephen Curtis

Veterinarian

I was born in Canada but grew up in sunny Canberra. I initially wanted to be a zoo keeper but then changed my mind and from an early age wanted to be a vet. I studied in Sydney, graduating in 2003 and have worked here and in the UK since. I used to travel quite a bit and enjoyed snowboarding, however with 5 kids at home, as well as 3 dogs, a number of goats, ducks, geese and weeds, I now mostly fix things and try to sneak a fish in when I can.
